I have had very good success using Classroom & web-based Games from LearningWare, Inc. (<a href="http://www.learningWare.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.learningWare.com</a>). They are very easy to customize to any content & media, and are extremely effective in engaging & motivating my audiences!

Thanks for this Chris.

I'm slowly working my way through the proceedings from the 'Game Based Learning 2009' - http://www.gamebasedlearning2009.com/proceedings - and Derek Robinson was very very good.

I am enjoying the Thinking Worlds demo I've downloaded, but have some questions I'll drop you a mail about tomorrow.

Hey David, check out Derek Robertsons work in the consularium in Scotland and also Scotlands SQA are introducing games based learning into curriculum assessment in the autumn. Less well known but just as effective is the work being done by Northumberland LA - Stephen Robson - using the wii, DS and tools like Dax Studio, Bryce and even Studio Max with secondary school kids.

Thinking Worlds is playing a part in these. There are some movie tutorials here http://www.thinkingworlds.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=89
