Word Cloud generator: Tagxedo

I’ve used a Word Cloud generator before, and enjoyed the results – like nearly everyone I used Wordle.

But today I found something different, and slightly more interesting (and gedgety) – Tagxedo.

Tagxedo “turns words – speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, blog – into a visually stunning tag cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text”. You can choose from a selection of colour schemes, shape designs, font styles, etc. You can also (although I couldn’t work out how to do it myself) have an embeddable ‘low-footprint’ tag cloud (but you’ll need Silverlight installed to even see it work).

Below is the tag cloud for the most recent 10 articles on www.dontwasteyourtime.co.uk, as of April 8th, 2010.
