Presentation Prezi: iPhone

I’ve mentioned the Prezi system for alternative presentations before, and a few people are starting to use them too. Instead of creating ‘slides’ you work on a large canvas and make you ‘map’ of the elements and how you navigate around them. One huge advantage is that you don’t have to stick to the linear “here-then-there” presentation method, you can jump around the scene as your audience asks questions.

Here’s one I did about my iPhone; less about the content and more about what you can do in this environment. I’m forever learning, and making this was fun!

    I am a big fan of Prezi. It takes a bit of time to get used to it and get your slides looking good but once you do the result is stunning! Creating a good presentation like this can be the difference in closing a deal or not as it really has the wow factor!

    Interestingly Prezi is not getting a great reputation or being well accepted in my joint. I think early adopters are trying to be too whizzy with the transitions, and making people slightly seasick..!

    Niall – Thanks for the comment. It has taken quite some time to become used to the interface for developing the presentation, but I think it has been worth it. The only ‘test’ will be what the audience will think of the movement and approaches you can take with this new approach to presenting.

    Cynan_sez – I know what you mean. Do you class this a failure of the system or a failure of the designer in how much rotation and movement they put in their presentation? Personally, the system should not be blamed for what the user did.

    Lleane – It’s worth the time investment needed, just don’t make your audience motion-sick with too much rotation.

      Pete – Have you seen my other post: “Alternatives to PowerPoint in the classroom”? I have signed up for the Ahead system but, as yet, have not had the chance to spend any time for it.

      Do you have an example of anything you’ve done with Ahead for us all to look at please?
