Presentation: Email is so 1973 (Google Wave)

I’ve posted a presentation from these folks before – Red Magma: eLearning Sucks – which is an excellently presented and very easy-to-understand approach.

This next one is equally easy to follow, all about Google Wave, and equally appealing to read/watch. So, enjoy.

    Mr. Hopkins,

Thanks for sharing this. It’s a little funny to me to think of email as obsolete. The ability to network all of the applications I may use is really attractive. Real time conversations, in my opinion, have limitations. Why not just pick up the phone or have a video conference. It’s not like you can be really multitasking with a live conference going on too. Real time conversations would require you to be on your game. It sounds to me a lot like IM’s or chat rooms, so maybe at this time I just can’t come up with an out of the box application. In a conference call with a few people, it’s manageable vocally. I would think the advantage of a real time conversation for a meeting may be in having the record to refer back to. Can you give me an example of a Wave application that gives me an untraditional IM view?
